How does Chancer work?
Chancer compares your resume against a job posting and gives you a match result from Weak to Strong. It uses rule-based scoring, not AI, so the results are consistent and meant to help you decide whether a role is worth your time.
Do you show the exact scoring formula?
No. We explain the score at a high level, but the detailed weighting and internal logic are proprietary. The score is informational and should be used as a decision aid, not a guarantee.
How do I upload my resume?
Open your dashboard, go to the resumes area, choose upload, and select a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file. If parsing looks off, try a plain text or DOCX version with clear section headers.
Why is the Chancer pill not showing on a job page?
Make sure you are on an individual LinkedIn or Handshake job posting, not a search results page. Refresh the page, confirm the extension is enabled, and try another listing to compare.
Does Chancer sell my data?
No. We do not sell your personal data. Resume data and scoring history are used to provide the product and are handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my account or export my data?
Yes. You can request account deletion, data access, correction, or export by emailing support@trychancer.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before completing the request.
What if a score looks wrong?
Send us the job link, what looked off, and any useful screenshots. We can review whether the job post formatting, your resume content, or a parsing issue affected the result.
What browsers and job boards are supported?
Today Chancer is focused on Chrome and supported job pages on LinkedIn and Handshake. Support for additional job boards may be added over time.
